Judge Robert Lemkau needs to go!
In early January, Heather went to night court for a traffic violation. Her court date was earlier, but she was in Cedars-Sinai and couldn't attend. After calling the court clerk's office to see if Dave could attend in her place, she was told to bring her hospital records and ask the judge to reopen the case. They do it all the time.
Long story short, she went to court and not only did the judge not allow her to have her case re-opened, (she was there for hours and not allowed to use the restroom or put her legs up as her doctor ordered) and when she tried to explain her side of things, the judge had her bodily thrown out of court. She was 30 weeks pregnant.
So, who was this judge? Robert Lemkau. The same judge that called Katie Tagle a liar and allowed Stephen Garcia to take their 9 month old baby, Wyatt on visitation. Stephen Garcia shot and killed Wyatt and himself 10 days later as he had threatened. The judge did not believe Katie.
“My supposition, ma’am, is that you’re lying.” Those were Judge Robert Lemkau’s words to Katie Tagle of Yucca Valley as she appeared in his Victorville courtroom Jan. 21, seeking a restraining order that would prevent her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Garcia, from having unsupervised, Thursday-to-Sunday visits with their son, 9-month-old Wyatt Garcia. The judge turned down Tagle’s petition for an ex parte restraining order — a kind of emergency order made without a full hearing.
Ten days later, in the early-morning hours of Jan. 31, Stephen Garcia allegedly shot his son before turning his pistol on himself on a road in the snowy mountains of Twin Peaks.

I'm helping to organize a protest at the VV Courthouse early next month. Get this jerk out of office!
I heard Katie Tagel's ex- interviewed on the John and Ken Show on KFI 640AM today. He told John and Ken as he sat in Judge Lemkau's courtroom Lemkau put down every woman that came before him and sided with every man.
Lemkau is definitely a misogyist...BIG TIME!
At least we now have a choice and don't have to put up with Lemkau for 6 more years. Vote for James Hosking to replace Lemkau!

It is ironically tragic that a MORMON JUDGE SENTENCED A 9 MONTH OLD INFANT TO DEATH without so much as a fair hearing on the facts, when a TYPICAL CONVICTED MURDERER will cost the judicial system over $5 million dollars and an average of 14 YEARS to finally EXECUTE.
What did Judge Lemkau have on his calendar that day that was more important than protecting the life of an innocent child?
Perhaps Judge Lemkau was tired, distracted, overworked, maybe even underpaid (making only $300K+ per year), maybe he was “having a bad day”, maybe he “could not foresee” the consequences of his hasty and ill-considered opinion, PERHAPS HE DID NOT EVEN READ THE PLEADINGS, but whatever excuse he now provides, the fact remains JUDGE LEMKAU SENTENCED AN INNOCENT, 9 MONTH OLD CHILD TO DEATH!
WE PROTEST CAPITAL PUNISHMENT ON THE BASIS THAT EVEN ONE MISTAKE WILL SENTENCE AN INNOCENT MAN TO THE GALLOWS - - THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT JUDGE LEMKAU DID IN THIS CASE.
THERE IS NO "SECOND CHANCE" FOR THIS BABY - NEITHER SHOULD THERE BE FOR THIS SAD EXCUSE OF A JUDGE.
If this judge honors human life, and especially THE RIGHTS OF INNOCENT CHILDREN HE IS APPOINTED TO PROTECT, he should look deep into his own soul and REMOVE HIMSELF FROM THE COURT, RESIGN HIS POSITION, AND ASK THE FORGIVENESS OF ALL.
Lacking his ability or wisdom to make that decision, THE PUBLIC, AND THE JUDICIAL AUTHORITIES SHOULD MOVE SWIFTLY TO REMOVE HIM.
COME NEXT ELECTION DAY, IT IS THE OBLIGATION OF ALL OF THE VOTERS TO REMOVE THIS SADLY DAMAGED JUDGE.
Judge Robert Lemkau needs to step down from his position NOW! This is something we would have expected back in 1950 but 2010?? How would he have felt if one of his offspring had been disregarded the way he did Katie Tagle. This is beyond comprehension! That man has no business ruling over others and should be considered as the responsible party for Wyatt's death!

You have been on my mind and in my prayers since I read of this event yesterday!! I am so very sorry for you as well as embarrassed and angered by our system of "fairness"! It didn't even come close for you!

Sorry I couldn't be there to march on March 11th. Get him out of office? Remove him from the BAR. Please don't let that baby die for nothing. My heart goes out to Katie Tagle. May Lemkau burn in hell and we can stand as a witness against him. CALL THE MOTHER A LIAR!!!???!!!! PLEASE.
I live on the other side of the country, and wish I could be there to protest with you guys. This story has broken my heart. Lemkau is a disgrace to the human species and has absolutely no business making decisions for anyone.
I had not heard of this unbelievable, horrific tragedy until today. I am heartsick for Wyatt and Ms. Tagle...and I am thoroughly disgusted and furious with the WORTHLESS "judge" who failed that precious baby and his mother miserably! His insulting and outrageous remarks to Ms. Tagle proves to me that he should be removed as a judge and, in my opinion, should be disbarred!! He should not have dismissed that poor woman's concerns and fears as "fabrications" - he was completely out of line by repeatedly calling her a lier!!
I was also COMPLETELY OUTRAGED that Lemkau is again campaigning to retain his seat on the bench!! That rotten SOB actually addresses this tragedy in the "FAQ" portion of his website and has the audacity to make excuses for his actions!!! LEMKAU IS WORTHLESS and should NEVER serve as a judge again. I hope he agonizes over what he did to that poor baby and his mother for the rest of his miserable life!!
